“We believe that before we can truly know a client we need to understand everything about their financial situation. For that reason, we engage a 3 step process:
A fact finding session in which we discuss your goals, Estate Planning needs and Tax situation. Our goal during this session is to gather information and to help get your personal financial office organized. We ask questions to determine how you have invested in the past and how you would like to invest in the future. We ask you to share your accountants and lawyer’s names so that we might consult with them on your behalf. We ask you to tell us about your employment income ,your passive income, personal holding companies you may/may not own, and Charitable or Family Trusts you may have set up. We determine your assets and liabilities. Generally we ask all the necessary questions to help position you for maximum tax assisted investment growth in the future.
A portfolio session in which we discuss any new investment vehicles we might suggest like a personal holding co, a TFSA, a charitable trust, a family trust or an IPP. During this session we begin discussing specific investment ideas and how they can relate you.
A final draft meeting in which we provide a portfolio proposal which includes an outline of the advice we have given, a draft of a suggested portfolio, and a written statement outlining your goals and objectives. That final written statement is essentially our promise to you. It defines how we will invest on your behalf.
